Bay Area cities implement curfew after George Floyd protests turn violent with looting, vandalism
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Citywide curfews have been issued in various locations in the Bay Area after protests over the death of George Floyd turned violent and destructive. This includes San Jose, Oakland, Walnut Creek and more.
San Francisco implemented a curfew, but then lifted it on Wednesday, June 3.
The order requires everyone within the city to stay home from the designated times.
EAST BAY
ALAMEDA COUNTY
Alameda County Sheriff's Department issued a curfew order for the entire county beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, June 1. The curfew order requires all non-exempted persons in the county to remain indoors between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
Contra Costa County has issued a countywide curfew beginning 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2. The curfew requires all non-exempted persons in the county to remain indoors between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. This order is until further notice.
ANTIOCH
The curfew will begin each night at 6:00 PM and expire at 5:00 AM on Wednesday, June 3. If the city determines that the curfew needs to be extended it will make an announcement on Wednesday.
OAKLAND
Oakland officials declared a local emergency and issued a curfew starting Monday, June 1 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. until further notice.
ORINDA
The city of Orinda is joining other Bay Area cities to enforce a curfew starting Monday, June 1 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
City officials say the following are exempt from the order: travel for Individuals traveling directly to and from work, attending religious services, commercial trucking and delivery services, obtaining food, caring for a family member, friend, or animal, patronizing or operating private businesses, seeking medical care or fleeing dangerous circumstances. Travel for any of the listed services is also allowed.
DANVILLE
The curfew will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, May 31 until Thursday, June 4. Danville Police Department asks residents to remain home during the hours of the curfew.
Danville has declared a State of Emergency due to civil unrest. Additional police personnel have been activated and are maintaining patrols throughout town.
HAYWARD
The city of Hayward will implement a citywide curfew beginning at 8 p.m. The curfew requires people within the City of Hayward to stay indoors from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. until June 8.
LAFAYETTE
Lafayette is implementing a curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. which will remain in effect until further notice.

UPDATE: Mayor London Breed announced the city would lift its curfew starting Thursday, June 4. The curfew was first implemented on May 31.

Solano county officials have imposed a Countywide Local Emergency and curfew order effective immediately, commencing Tuesday evening, June 2, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. The curfew requires people in the County of Solano to stay indoors from 8:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m. The emergency order will remain in place until 5:00 a.m. on June 4, 2020 or until the Declaration of Local Emergency is rescinded or extended at the discretion of the county.
