The King shall rejoice in thy strength, O Lord.

Exceeding glad shall he be of thy salvation.

Glory and great worship hast thou laid upon him.

 This piece was written to be used during 

Coronation of English monarch, George II. 

Handel picked up the theme from 

Psalm 21:1 

"The king shall joy in thy strength, 

O LORD; and in thy salvation 

how greatly shall he rejoice! "

Now that Jesus " ... hath made us 

kings and priests unto God and his Father; 

to him be glory and dominion for ever 

and ever. Amen." Revelation 1:6,  this piece

is for God's elect as well.

 이 곡은 영국 왕의 대관식에 불리기 

위해서 작곡되었다. 헨델은 시편 21:1

에서 주제를 따왔다

"여호와여 왕이 주의 힘으로 말미암아 

기뻐하며 주의 구원으로 말미암아 크게 

즐거워하리다."

게시록 1:6에서 예수님은 "... 그의 아버지

하나님을 위하여 우리를 나라와(왕과) 

제사장으로 삼으신 그에게 영광과 능력이 

세세토록 있기를 원하노라.아멘."이라고 

쓰여 있으니 이 곡은 하나님의 선택받은  

그의 양자 양녀를 위한 곡이기도 하다.
